When did you join Savills?

I joined Savills in July 2006. After my two week induction training, I joined the Industrial Department where I worked under Gavin Butler. I spent almost 2 years working on industrial property in the Greater Dublin Area. My key roles involved sales and lettings of industrial units, maintaining client relationships, formulating and implementing marketing plans and monitoring industrial statistics on a quarterly basis. I then rotated to the Retail department where I was involved in rent review negotiations as well as agency based work. During my 18 months there, I acquired properties for a number of high profile clients and also sold/let a number of retail properties.

What made you choose Savills?

The main reason that I chose to work for Savills was that they took an interest in developing me as an employee. They were prepared to invest in my future to ensure that I reached my full potential and in return I produced the best results for the company. After 4 years of employment, I feel I am a well rounded employee with excellent experience in many sectors of the market and I continue to learn year by year.

What is your current role?

In October 2009 I joined the Professional Service Department of Savills. I currently work on NAMA valuations as well as standard Red Book valuations required by clients. I am allocated valuations as the instructions are received and I am given complete autonomy to arrange inspections of the properties, gather all evidence available, form my opinion of value and produce a report to a standard which is ready to be issued to the client. After values are debated with my directors I am responsible for speaking with the client to inform them of values and to provide the rational behind my values if required.
